Introducing: Wonder Aloud
We have exciting news to share: WOW! is now Wonder Aloud.
We’ve been working behind the scenes this year to develop a new brand and identity that better reflects the direction our organization has been going in for a while now, including our deepened focus on contemplative work. Our new name and look more completely reflects the heart and soul of how and why we offer unhurried hospitality that encourages being heard and known, rest, discovery, healing, and awareness of God in the details of our everyday lives.
Why the Name Change
To connect more deeply with our growing community. In 2024, nearly 17% our participants were men, and we expect this percentage to continue to increase. As our audience evolves, we wanted a name that is more inclusive and invites everyone to join in, including groups and teams, which have been a part of our community for some time now.
Our new name references the kind of invitation we’re extending:
Wonder Aloud has double meanings, as “aloud” also sounds like “allowed.” We want you to know that you are allowed, and have permission to speak honestly or vulnerably. The permission evokes an invitation to not only speak, but to find and trust your voice.
Our new name makes “wonder” an action word. We hope that what we offer, such as our storytelling gatherings and group spiritual direction, ultimately facilitate and guide you to intentionally and delightfully wonder what God is doing and how he is speaking to you.
Wondering aloud invites you to grow with compassionate listeners in safe spaces where you can be yourself and be bold about being heard and seen. This posture reminds us of Luke 19:40, when Jesus says, “If they kept quiet, the stones would do it for them, shouting praise,” (MSG) encouraging the acclamations of people.
Why the New Logo
Like our name, we wanted a logo and brand identity that extends invitation and curiosity, in parallel with the objective of our offerings. We carefully chose fonts and colors that are warm, cozy, and dynamic. We also wanted it to spark curiosity and interest, inviting you to pause to wonder and look deeper into what the logo means. Just like our new name, the logo is a visual invitation to participate and not be a passive observer.
What Remains Unchanged
While our name is changing, our core values, leadership team, and commitment to being a community that is faithfully creating spaces for wonder and spiritual renewal remain the same. We are still passionate about serving the BIPOC members, which represented 87% of our participants in 2024.
You can still expect friendship on your spiritual journey, and spaces and experiences that invite more of God’s wonder through silent retreats, spiritual direction, storytelling, listening, workshops, and more.
